How to prepare your organization for a quantum advantage now
Quantum computers are still at an early stage — organizations have been exploring proofs of principle and concept. Most problems solvable using current quantum devices can also be solved more quickly than before with conventional computer technology; however in recent years research advances accelerated greatly which led to the technology moving out into real-world applications.
The Capgemini Research Institute surveyed 200 executives at global organizations who are either already working with or planning to work within quantum technologies. They conducted detailed interviews on more than 30 industry insiders in order find out what their thoughts were about advances that will continue into 2020s decade that will be relevant to their businesses.
The race to create the first quantum advantage has never been closer. Organizations that have launched successful proofs of concept (PoCs) are more optimistic about achieving this goal, with 20% believing significant impact will happen within five years or less than ever before compared 13%.
